Principal's Message

Principal Marya Moreno

Dear Crowell Families,

Welcome to a new school year at Crowell Elementary! As I begin my second year as principal, I look forward to continuing the incredible work we've started together. Crowell is a special place because of the strong partnerships among our students, families, and staff, and I am excited to continue building on the relationships and successes that make our school community thrive.

Last year was one of tremendous growth for our school. We celebrated a Crowell teacher being recognized at the county level as Teacher of the Year, a reflection of the outstanding educators who make a difference in the lives of our students every day. We continued to strengthen our culture of inclusion, ensuring all students had meaningful opportunities to learn, participate, contribute, and belong.  We launched the first year of our Language Lab, expanding support for English learners while strengthening English Language Development across our campus.

Beyond the classroom, Crowell was filled with opportunities that brought learning to life and strengthened our school community. Students explored, created, and collaborated during our school-wide STEM Day. Families joined us for events that celebrated learning and connection. Our Dance C.R.E.W. proudly represented Crowell through two public performances, culminating in our very first school-wide dance recital. We also launched new opportunities for students to discover their interests and build friendships, including our first-ever Pokémon Club. These experiences reflect our belief that learning extends beyond academics and that every student deserves opportunities to discover their passions, build confidence, and feel connected to school.

As we look ahead, our vision remains clear. We will continue building meaningful relationships with students and families, fostering an inclusive environment where every child feels valued, challenged, and supported, and providing engaging learning experiences that promote academics alongside social and emotional growth. We know that students thrive when they feel safe, connected, and inspired, and we are committed to ensuring every Cougar experiences that each day.

Strong partnerships between home and school are key to student success. Thank you for supporting your child's learning and helping make Crowell a welcoming, connected community.  Together, we will continue building a school where every student is known, every family is welcomed, and every Cougar has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
